Our Story can be traced back to 2017, Our founder- Oluwaseyi Moejoh, was 16 years old and in SS2 (Grade 11) when she was appointed an SDG Six Ambassador for The Neo Child Initiative (TNCI), during this time she engaged over 2,000 girls at her high school in projects on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sanitation, and recycling for a year.

In November 2018, Oluwaseyi connected with Fathia Bello during a TNCI volunteer event, They shared similar interests in creating solutions to address pollution and poor waste management in Nigeria, and together ever since then they have worked together to create innovative environmental projects and programs enlightening and engaging youths across Africa

Today, U-recycle Initiative Africa has now become an award-winning youth-led registered non–profit focused on advancing environmental education, circular economy, and climate action across Africa. As of January 2022, we have implemented over 36 environmental and youth development projects engaging over 7100 youths across eleven African countries

U-Recycle Initiative Africa was established: Our organization was founded by Oluwaseyi Moejoh in September 2018 after winning the 2018 TNCI Social Impact Award.
Recruited the first set of U-Recycle volunteers, U-recycle needed more hands to amplify the cause.
Established our online presence and launched our website.
